CAMP At a Glance

  • CAMP was organized in 1999, with corporate identity provided through the Society for Public Health Education between 2000 and 2009.
  • In May 2009, CAMP received its designation as a 501(c)(3) organization.
  • All CAMP full members are accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health; associate members have applied for CEPH approval.
  • The 24 CAMP Programs represent hundreds of faculty and public health graduate students, and thousands of MPH alumni.
  • CAMP Programs are located throughout the United States, with students drawn from local, state, national, and international points of origin and ongoing relationships with local health agencies, research institutions, and community-based organizations.
  • Community Health Education and Community Health / Preventive Medicine MPH Programs are the fastest growing type of CEPH-accredited programs, with estimate that there will eventually be 50 such programs producing 1,000 graduates per year.
