  • "What is Health Education?" - An overview and explanation of the health education profession.
  • "Who Will Keep the Public Healthy?" - This PowerPoint slideshow presents a summary of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) report Who Will Keep the Public Healthy: Educating Public Health Professionals for the 21st Century, including all the recommendations set forth in the report; this a companion report to The Future of the Public's Health in the 21st Century.  Both are projects of the IOM, authored by the Committee on Assuring the Health of the Public in the 21st Century and the Committee on Educating Public Health Professionals in the 21st Century, respectively.
  • "Code of Ethics for the Health Education Profession" - This document is the framework of shared values within which Health Education is practiced, setting forth ethical guidelines by which all health educators are expected to abide when making professional decisions.
  • "The Essential Services of Public Health" - This site provides background information on the development of the 10 Essential Services of Public Health, and more detailed an operational information on what are the essential services and how they are practiced.
  • "Using Graduate Health-Education Competencies in Accreditation" - Authored by the Council on Education for Public Health, this is one in a set of technical assistance papers "that expand on policy or that provide practical suggestions about how official CEPH policy may be operationalized... They are meant to be helpful to applicants for accreditation, to site visitors who apply CEPH policy, or other readers who have an interest in these topics."
